New 2024 Subaru Impreza Will Be Offered As Hatchback Only
Subaru recently revealed the newly redesigned 2024 Subaru Impreza. The sixth generation Impreza is available only as a hatchback and features a new RS trim. This will equip it with a powerful 2.5L engine. Lately, Subaru has been focusing on its electrification efforts. Increasing its EV production and releasing its first all-electric Subaru Solterra have been top priorities. Although EVs have been a top focus, the Japanese automaker has still found time to update its favorites like the Impreza and BRZ. Along with fan favorites, Subaru has also updated its advanced EyeSight safety suite. For now, we’ll take a look at the 2024 Subaru Impreza and see what consumers can expect.
2024 Impreza Will Feature New RS Trim
Subaru recently unveiled the newly redesigned 2024 Subaru Impreza which is set to arrive with new updates and styling changes. Perhaps due to the overwhelming amount of hatchback sales compared to the sedan version, Subaru will only be offering the 2024 Impreza as a hatchback. The sixth-generation Impreza will also arrive with a new RS trim. The base Impreza arrives equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine but the RS trim will equip the hatchback with a powerful 2.5L engine. The 2.0L delivers 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque while 2.5L offers 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be paired with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive.
Looking at the 2024 Subaru Impreza’s exterior, it’s clear that the hatchback retains some of its familiar design. Styling changes include a taller grille as well as new chrome trim that replaces the previous black accents. The Impreza also sees changes at its rear with newly redesigned taillights that no longer insert into the rear hatch. Subaru has also redesigned the rear-wheel arches giving the Impreza a more sporty look. With the RS trim, owners will find RS badging on the front doors and rear hatch as well as inside the hatchback.
Depending on the trim, the 2024 Impreza will feature a carbon and gunmetal upholstery. The hatchback will also feature cloth seats with red bolstering. Sport and RS trims feature paddle shifters as well as a simulated manual mode that gives drivers 8 preset ratios. Upgrades to the steering rack also help improve the steering feel to make driving more engaging. For infotainment, the Impreza receives a new 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen. The 2024 Impreza also features an upgraded EyeSight safety suite that includes a 360-degree surround-view camera, a blind spot monitoring system, and a pre-collision system.
